SAW OF OSSA (SERRA D`OSSA)

Estremoz has a clear vocation for Active Tourism and Nature. The beautiful landscape invites you to walk, ride a bike or ride on the back of a horse. And municipal routes, accompanying the plain from the area, are excellent for cycling.

When we think about Estremoz, the first image that comes to our mind refers us to the yellow of the cornfields, more in the Serra d `Ossa, where the landscape is king, surrounded by green vegetation and also maintaining some Mediterranean forests and scrublands, constituting a favourable natural heritage that benefits the Biodiversity, in many cases specific to this region. The Serra d `Ossa, with 650 meters above sea level, is the main elevation of the Central Alentejo. It has a northwest /southeaster exposure and it´s central core covers the concelhos of Estremoz, Borba and Redondo. On its slopes are at the waters that feed one side to the Guadiana and the other to the Tagus. Contrasting with this relief, which is essentially beneficial, extends the call area of the Marbles, a name that encompasses Estremoz, Borba, Vila Viçosa and Alandroal.
