FOUNTAIN OF PERO BOI

FOUNTAIN OF PERO BOI

Dates from century XVII, although there was a source in the same location as the beginning of the sixteenth century. It is located below the Quinta de Martinho, near the river San Juan.

This is a very simple type of font with a square embedded on two pillars container moldings and capitals, where the upper front and wavy pyramids, all in granite sits. Among the pillars at the top, there is a drum with scalloped edges. There laterally on the retaining wall an armillary sphere and a coat of arms of the Manueline period. Still has a channel for animals and a pile for laundry.
