IGLESIA DE SANTA MARÍA DE LA DEHESA This church is the Mayor. Its construction began in 1789 on the site of a small chapel, founded in 1311 by Lourenço Pires and his wife. It ends in 1873. It is a huge temple, perhaps the largest of the Alto Alentejo. This Church is formed by a set of seven bodies: a nave, the chancel, in the transept, two towers and two vestries.The nave is rectangular, the entire interior space is divided into four sections, separated by painted pilasters. The ceiling is barrel vault, also divided into sections by torais arches.
